COVID-VIRTUAL-BACK TO THE GAME
“The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the exhibition industry is severe. Despite gradual reopening in many parts of the world, many companies in the exhibition industry face huge revenue drops and profit loss. This also impacts all participants who sign contracts on the showfloor. It is important that governments, local authorities and the industry work together to facilitate the reopening of exhibitions, and primarily B-to-B events, as they have a critical role to play in the recovery of economies and societies,” - Kai Hattendorf, UFI Managing Director and CEO.
Globalisation transcended beyond commercial barriers between countries, the increased competition paved new ways of interaction in which trade fairs have been the most important bridge in internationalisation of the brands. Fairs continue to bring buyers and sellers together. Virtual trade shows have attempted to bridge the gap between vistors and exhibitors. These trade shows have helped the exhibitors, visitors and the whole exhibition community to attend without any physical interaction in line with the international covid protocols.
The covid-19 pandemic has affected the world , and brought trade shows and exhibitions to a screeching halt. The world is going through a phase of transition where the virtual world has taken over and the impact was heavy on exhibition industry. More than 500 trade shows and exhibitions have either been cancelled or postponed globally. It has effected companies involved in staging exhibitions and the companies that exhibit or source on trade fairs.
The world has wondered when it can return to pre-pandemic normal, including the tradeshows and exhibitions as we’ve seen them the way they have been held in the past. With social distancing and proper health hygiene can allow some people, the days of crowded trade show floors are a legacy of pre pandemic exhibitions. As of now, once on the verge of vanishing, the exhibition industry is on the path of making a comeback with the same vigour and excitement of pre pandemic levels with the twist of covid norms and every necessary precaution. It took a while but we are back better than ever before.
Zealinternationalug is available with its full fledged capacity to serve the industry again, our efforts together will surely bring the industry back to a new normal.
